"Spontaneity at its best!"

On a bright and wonderful day, I'm sitting at my (usually clean) desk. While staring at the piles of files and work on my desk my phone vibrates, as I reach across my desk and pick up my iphone5 with its cute little peacock case (from eBay) that has jewels falling off of it, I read a text from my dearest husband..."we have plans tonight, don't make supper" .... As I read, I feel my heart start to skip, *what could he have planned?* I thought... As my thumbs gently tapped the screen I replied "what do we have planned?" I anxiously await a reply! Waiting and waiting and waiting finally my phone vibrates again. I begin to read but no answers other than "dress casual and comfy" .... Casual and comfy? That's my kind of outfit!! So I start thinking about what I can wear. I look at the clock and see that it is 11:00. I think to myself *only 11:00!? Now 4:30 will never come!* I pick up my favorite pen and start back into my working, hoping the day will go fast!
4:30 finally came and I saying bye to my coworker. As soon as I get out the door I feel like running to my car but I contain my excitement! I get home and start picking out my outfit... I find my striped navy and maroon shirt that a friend gave me and I put my favorite (comfy) jean skirt on from goodwill. I then decide on a lace vest from 15dollarstore.com to pair with it and matching tan socks. I decided to grab a sweater just in case I would get chili and I chose my vintage inspired navy and maroon military inspired sweater from the thrift store I town. I grab a leopard belt that I've had forever and my brown riding boots from Windsor.com. I decide last minute that I will take my favorite gold vintage inspired cross body bag from a garage sale because I didn't want to carry a big bulky bag around on our little adventure! We head out the door and I climb into the car excited like a little kid! We head down the road and listen to our favorite tunes till we get to our destination.... My favorite restaurant ever..... Spaghetti factory!!!! I instantly designated my husband to take the pictures for the blog because I LOVE the building! So here's the pictures! ⏬(Down there)
I decide on my most favorite meal ever... Mizithra cheese and brown butter spaghetti mixed with marinara sauce!!!! Can you say yummy?!?! I ate every last bit of it!! Needless to say my husband had an amazing spontaneous surprise night planned for me and I enjoyed every second! :) I'm so blessed to have him in my life ❤

Happy Mother's Day!!!!

Without being a mother I can't say that I know how special this day is.... But since I have a mother I know that this is a day to go all out in letting my mom and mother in law know how special they are and how thankful I am for them!
God has blessed me with an amazing mom who is the best example I could ask for! She is a Godly, loving and caring person!! I am constantly blown away by her creativity and advise! I wouldn't make it a day (or supper) without her! :)

My mother-in-law is a blessing! She is a strong and beautiful women who has shown me what a parent should be to their kids! She couldn't have given me a better husband and I thank her so much for that!

My sister is an outstanding person! She can do ANYTHING! just like my dad. She is so strong! Even though she's been through a lot she pushes on and doesn't show when she is hurt. She is raising three boys and is doing a great job! I see her love poured out to them time and time again! She is a great mommy and I love her so!

I have two sister in laws that are great moms also! I am shown examples of a mom time and time again and I have received great advice from both of them! I love them and look up to them both!

Then there's this girl named Keri that I work with... She is a mom to a cute little boy who is madly In love with his mommy, he is smart and polite, and can sing the star Spangled banner at 2! She prayed for him everyday and with him at every meal. She shows him love and gives him praise when he does good. She devotes her heart, life and time to her sod and family and I respect her as a mom. I only hope I can be half of the mom she is to her son. God had blessed me with her friendship and I think it's for more reasons than to just have a blog. I think he put her in my life to help me through things and he'll me learn how to be a mom when I need to be. I couldn't thank her enough for all she does and the love and support she gives me! I am thankful and I wanted everyone to know it!

If you are a mom I hope you had a wonderful day, if you are not... I hope you got to spend it with your mother or a special women in your life that influences you!

Now for clothes I was a little boring today... Sorry! But I will share with you the hand-me-downs I got from my mom!! :)

Shirt (sister gave to me) jean shirt - target socks - Burlington, skirt from a thrift store, and belt from body central.

Goodnight and God bless!!!!

"Mint" to be!

What a beautiful day we had again today! God is so good! He is an amazing God! When there are days like this I can't help but be amazed by his beauty! He's an artist you know?
I decided to wear my mint skirt that my sister found for me at a local thrift store! (She's the best) and a pink polka dot top that I found a few months back at a thrift store! My nude heals and vintage pins are also from a thrift store... BUT the ivory undershirt was from dots. Sadly I went to the town where dots was the other day and noticed that the store was closed for good. :( *sad face* I was down for a bit but then we went to target and I was happy again. Target has some GREAT clearance stuff right now if you get the chance to run by. I LOVE their maternity clothes (even though in not prego) it's always fun to look!
Also there is a site online called 15dollarstore.com that I Like to check out every once in a while and they have some super cute neon yellow heels I've been eyeing! Maybe just maybe you'll see those heels in some blogs coming up! I hope! Well home everyone enjoys this beautiful day!

A Good hair day???

I love doing hair! I do anyone's hair that will let me play with it! I love trying things from Pinterest and different hair magazines! I'm way better at doing someone else's hair, rather then mine. I hardly EVER have a "good hair day"... Now Keri on the other hand! She can put her hair on a pony tail and It looks gorgeous! She can do this twist thing that I CANNOT figure out! Her hair is this great color and length that you can do about ANYTHING with!
Here are some pictures of different hair days that I thought looked good! :)
P.s the braided hair is a few special guests!! :)
P.s.s speaking of hair... Who LOVES tangled?? Is it not the cutest Disney movie EVER!!! Yes, yes it is! :)

Have you heard of Houndstooth?

I'm CRAZY!! About houndstooth patterns! I LOVE them! Always have! When I saw this "granny" sweater as some would call it I about flipped! I love the sequined detail! It's a "kathy lee" name brand. I don't usually like many of those items but I didn't care where this sweater was from when I saw it at a local thrift store! I paired it with my bright red skirt I found at "remarkable resale" and yes that store is remarkable! As I got this skirt :like new: for $8.99!!! I needed a red skirt so I was super excited! I wore my simple and oh so comfy black heels from a thrift store in Florida when we went on vaca! So yes this outfit (without meaning to) is a thrift store outfit!

"Along the lines of Nautical"

"Rain rain go away, come again a later day."
It has rained non-stop for like 5 days! We finally got a break so I decided to do some shots outside with the pretty, bright flowers and green green grass!
It's amazing how we can have a drought one year and a flood the next! But God is in control and even through all this rain I am amazed by his mighty hand! The flooded areas around town were bad but somewhat gorgeous! I took tons of pictures! :)
I've had this shirt for a while and I love the subtle ruffles on the front and how the gold belt just POPS! I got this top from a thrift store... The striped shirt under it is actually a button up sweater that I stole from my moms AMAZING closet! :) and the belt is a vintage touch I got from a little store in our area. My skirt is from citi trends and my shoes are actually also vintage. I loved the somewhat nautical look to this but yet a mix of color! :) hope you do too!
Ps: the ice cream is from our little ice cream shop here in town and the food is from panera bread! Yummm!
